After a short briefing from your British Gliding Association instructor, it's time to take to the skies for an unforgettable flight. You'll take the controls during your flight, and if you get hooked, this first lesson counts towards a Glider Pilot's certificate.

When you arrive, you will be asked to complete a membership application form (under 18’s will require parental consent on this form). Generally you will be asked to hand in the voucher on the day, so remember to take this with you as it is your form of payment for your lesson. You will then be briefed by your instructor before the flight. Most gliding clubs are owned and run by their members. Your introduction to gliding will often include helping out with various tasks associated with gliding – keeping the log, preparing to launch gliders etc, whilst awaiting your turn to fly. Gliding is very much a team effort and this is why it is such a sociable sport. Your voucher includes one flight of 15 to 30 minutes (according to weather conditions),or 2 winch launch glider flights of 7-10 minutes each which are offered at the Dover, Kent location.
